The iconic National Museum of Qatar, dedicated to the history of the state, was built in 2019. Its architecture symbolically evokes the desert, its silent and eternal dimension, and the spirit of modernity and daring that have come along and shaken up what seemed unshakable, taking inspiration from the desert roses (clusters of gypsum or barite crystals).

The Špork Palace is a complex of three buildings, whose original classicist form was  the 1920s by Josef Gočár. In 2017, it was modified based on Stanislav Fiala’s concept, aiming to balance surrounding height differences and create a pedestrian passage that revives the previously empty space. A series of twenty photographs captures key parts of the complex and selected interiors (Červený Jelen, Sia, Dentons).

The assignment was to create 20 photographs of the complex of two opposite office buildings of Generali’s Czech headquarters in Pankrác, Prague, primarily focusing on the exterior. The main building, with a double H-shaped floor plan, is cut through the arc of the main street and wrapped with a 120-metre continuous cover glass wall with lettering and tinted glass, complemented by a drop-shaped roof dome. The building’s opposite side is particularly eye-catching because of its constant glass part on both sides.

The Euro-Astra palace complex consists of two office buildings – the functionalist Astra from 1927 and the modern Euro from 2002, which, together with the opposite Crown, frames Wenceslas Square. For the owners of both buildings, Generali Real Estate, I was commissioned to take 20 photographs. The aim was to cover the exterior with a main focus on Euro, as well as examples of the interiors of both buildings.

The 1999 Hypobank building forms the backdrop for the outline of the historic customs yard to the south. In the street “Na Poříčí,” it takes over the gutter heights of the neighbors, while the stair tower in the street “V Celnici” conspicuously closes the square. In 2011, there was an extensive interior renovation for the needs of the then-owner, the current tenant – UniCredit Bank. My task was to create a series of twenty photographs of both the exterior and the interior, which by its nature is subject to special restrictions.

The foundation of Palác Křižík is a set of historic buildings between Radlická, Plzeňská, and Kováků streets and currently serves as a modern office complex. These buildings underwent total reconstruction from 2004 to 2006, and a modern extension of seven above-ground and four underground floors was carried out, including transforming the courtyard into a covered glass atrium. My task was to create a series of 20 photographs covering both the exterior (wide shots of individual facades and details) and examples of the interior (atrium and other shared areas, L’oréal offices, and Seznam.cz premises).

The HBKU (Hamad Bin Khalifa University) Minaretein Building is located in Education City, Doha’s district Al Rayyan in Qatar and is a home for the College of Islamic Studies faculty. As such, it contains the Mosque and majestic minaret towers towering in the sky. The structure rests on five large columns representing the five pillars of Islam, each featuring a verse drawn from the Quran. To develop a place’s undisputed ethereal appearance, I chose to work with a more high-key look and simplify the architecture into individual shapes.

The Art Nouveau-Renaissance building on Jungmann Square underwent extensive renovation in 2018, restoring it to its original state – except for the parterre. Emphasis was placed on the pregnant conception of the historical colour scheme, particularly the green tones of the façade, windows, and floral metalwork on grilles and balconies, as well as on the restoration of the two-tone slate roof. For the client, I created a series of 20 photographs capturing both the exterior and interior of the contemporary hotel.
